Distiller’s Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS)

DDGS Comments: Cash corn prices are 9 cents/bushel higher across the U.S. this week with firming basis values helping offset Thursday’s move lower in futures. Prices for DDGS FOB ethanol plants are up $/1MT with Kansas City soymeal prices moving $6/MT higher. DDGS are priced at 106 percent of cash corn values, up from last week and equal to the three-year average. The DDGS/soymeal price ratio is 0.42, down from last week and slightly above the three-year average.

Barge CIF NOLA prices are slightly lower this week while FOB Gulf offers are steady-to-$1/MT lower. Rates for DDGS delivered via rail to the PNW are $2-3/MT higher this week with the winter storm across the northwestern Plains complicating logistics. Prices for 40-foot containers to Southeast Asia are $5/MT lower this week for October shipment but are $1-2/MT higher for November/December shipment.
