The U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC) mission is to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives. As such, 2022-23 USGC Chairman Josh Miller has chosen as his theme, “Live the Mission,” asking staff in 11 offices around the world and in its Washington, D.C. headquarters – as well as Council members and state cooperators – to speak about how that mission shows up in the work they do every day on behalf of U.S. agriculture. Review their responses by clicking on the videos below to better understand how those associated with the Council work to be the most relevant, passionate and trusted ambassadors for free and fair trade between U.S. agriculture and our customers around the world – the Faces of the Mission.

Mission has always been a guiding force for me, one that shows up in my life and responsibilities every day. Having a clear direction helps an organization get things done thoroughly and expediently, and while trade and exports are a long game, the U.S. Grains Council’s mission couldn’t be clearer – to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives. These short, video interviews with Council staff are just a few examples of how we each Live the Mission for the U.S. Grains Council!

“It’s very important that the work that I do really embodies “Live the Mission.” I think it spreads throughout the team – we have such a great team that does live the mission every single day – and I just try to set an example.”
Ryan LeGrand, U.S. Grains Council, President and CEO
