Ocean Freight Comments

Transportation and Export Report: Jay O’Neil, O’Neil Commodity Consulting:  The dry-bulk freight markets have not yet started their Christmas shopping as there was no gift giving to vessel owners this week. The general tone of the markets was weaker amid thin trade. The announcement of a Phase One U.S.-China trade agreement has created optimism among ship owners but, for the moment, there are more ships looking for work verses cargo. This is good news for those needing vessels but not at all good news for those owning them.
