As trade teams explore U.S. farm country, the free grains conversion calculator app from the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) can translate the data points common in conversations between U.S. farmers and exporters and their overseas buyers.
The Council recently completed updates to the app – called the “USGC Conversion Calculator” – to enhance the conversions between English and metric units for U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products, including dried distiller’s grains with solubles (DDGS) and ethanol. The app also provides conversions for other related measures including distance, area and temperature.
“The Council built this conversion app to help both domestic and international stakeholders in the business conversations they need to have,” said Melissa Kessler, USGC director of strategic relations, who led the efforts to create and update the app. “Making conversions in the palm of your hand provides easily accessible and comparable market information to help our trade partners quickly gain a greater understanding of the U.S. grain value chain.”
The app is also available in multiple languages, including English, Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, French and Korean.
