After a few days in the nation’s capital attending the Global Ethanol Summit, 11 teams of senior-level officials from around the world are visiting the corn states of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin to get a better handle on the U.S. ethanol value chain. One team, including members from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, toured Kansas before the Summit.
Delegations are stopping into cooperatives to discuss retail competition and the technology of ethanol pumps, refineries to learn about ethanol retail fuel infrastructure and production and corn farms to gain a better understanding of ethanol feedstock production among other visits specifically designed to showcase the U.S ethanol industry and establish the United States as the resource for experience in developing an ethanol industry.
Follow along in this photo essay to see what the team members are learning.
