Last week, the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) first trade mission to Timor-Leste to view the country’s agricultural system, port facilities and explore U.S. export opportunities. Pictured, USGC Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEA&O) Caleb Wurth (left) and USGC Deputy Regional Director for SEA&O Chris Markey (right) met with H.E. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, vice-prime minister and minister coordinator for economic affairs and minister of tourism and environment, to discuss collaborative possibilities to develop demand for U.S. coarse grain products in Timor-Leste.
