John Owen joined the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) last week as global programs coordinator based in the organization’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. In this capacity, Owen is responsible for supporting logistics for the organization’s various trade teams and international programs.
Owen joined the Council from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service, where he served as a specialty crops market reporter in the market news division. He also has experience as the agricultural affairs and commodity policy intern at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and as the Asia policy intern at the International Trade Administration, where he gained exposure to international agricultural trade policy and market development initiatives.
“John’s experience in policy and markets, in addition to his passion for international economics and trade, makes him a great asset to the global programs department,” said Stella Qian, USGC director of global programs administration.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and applied economics from Texas Tech University.
Please join the Council in welcoming John!
