U.S. Export Statistics
Corn: Net sales of 487,900 metric tons for 2019/2020 were down 11 percent from the previous week, but up 15 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for unknown destinations (227,700 MT), Mexico (186,900 MT, including decreases of 12,100 MT), the Dominican Republic (15,500 MT), Japan (14,600 MT, including decreases of 50,000 MT), and Canada (11,700 MT), were offset by reductions for Colombia (2,000 MT). Exports of 317,900 MT were down 36 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (226,100 MT), Colombia (26,500 MT), Japan (23,200 MT), Costa Rica (19,700 MT), and Nicaragua (7,000 MT).
Optional Origin Sales: For 2019/2020, new optional origin sales of 119,000 MT were reported for South Korea (65,000 MT) and Japan (54,000 MT). Options were exercised to export 133,500 MT to South Korea from other than the United States. The current outstanding balance of 557,900 MT is for South Korea (325,000 MT), Israel (120,000 MT), Egypt (58,900 MT), and Japan (54,000 MT).
Barley: Net sales of 1,000 MT for 2019/2020 were reported for South Korea (800 MT) and Taiwan (200 MT). Exports of 1,800 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and up 88 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Japan (1,000 MT) and South Korea (600 MT).
Sorghum: Net sales of 216,600 MT for 2019/2020–a marketing-year high–were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (123,000 MT), unknown destinations (66,000 MT), Mexico (15,100 MT), and Japan (12,500 MT). Exports of 200 MT were up 85 percent from the previous week, but down 79 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destination was Mexico.
