Applications for the U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC’s) Advisory Teams, commonly known as A-teams, must be submitted for review by April 27 to be considered for the 2018-2020 term.
A-Teams are committees of subject matter experts that provide input on the direction, priorities and activities of the Council as well as further encourage member participation in USGC export market development efforts.
The Council operates seven advisory teams, each with a different area of focus, including Asia, Ethanol, Innovation and Sustainability, Middle East/Africa, Trade Policy, Value-Added and Western Hemisphere.
A-Team members serve two-year terms and are committed to attending UGSC meetings as well as participating in selected international travel, domestic trade teams and other meetings and conferences.
Current A-Team members whose terms expire in 2018 must submit a new application, either for the same or a different A-Team, to continue serving as an A-Team member. Council members can apply for as many A-Team members as they have eligible delegates.
Applications for A-Teams are due by April 27. USGC will finalize appointments before the USGC Board of Delegates’ July meeting, with terms beginning on Aug. 7, 2018, soon after it concludes.
For questions about eligible delegates or for additional information on A-Team responsibilities, please contact Maria Murphy at mmurphy@grains.org or (202) 326-0619. Find the application for A-team participation online here.
