Who says learning can’t be fun? The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) recently implemented two new social media campaigns to help its audience learn more about top grain and ethanol markets and the Council’s history.
Major Market Monday is a trivia guessing game held on the Council’s Instagram and Facebook stories each week. Every post features a new market the Council works in and allows players to test their knowledge while discovering something new about the export of commodities.
Each Thursday, the Council shares Our History, a post that contains an in-depth look at the Council’s relationship with the featured market of the week. This series of posts highlights a historical photo and other photos relating to the Council’s relationship with the market as well as an explanation of its significance in history.
“We are excited to infuse some trivia and history into this important social media platform, while offering a few things the casual Instagram scroller may not know,” said Bryan Jernigan, USGC director of communications. “Not only is it fun to learn, as social media viewers put these pieces together, we hope it makes them think and get a clearer picture of the Council’s role in trade and why what it does is vital to the American agricultural industry.”
Aside from these campaigns, the Council regularly posts updates on all social media platforms featuring its trade teams, international office outreach, conferences and more.
Make sure to revisit the Council’s social media platforms after the 62nd Annual Board of Delegates meeting in Sacramento, California, for a new, third campaign, sure to pique your interest in the Council’s work to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives.
