This week, the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) welcomed a new member to its Washington, D.C. staff. Abby Loesing will be spending her summer as an intern with the Council’s Industry Relations department, thanks to the generous support of the Nebraska Corn Board.
Loesing will be working on meeting and conference support to prepare for the upcoming July Board of Delegates meeting scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City, UT, as well as Export Exchange scheduled to take place in Fort Worth, TX, October 7-9. Additionally, she will assist with the implementation of the recent bylaw change and support new member recruitment.
“We are excited to welcome Abby to the Council and to the industry relations team for the summer,” said Ellen Zimmerman, USGC director of industry relations. “She will be an excellent addition and bring fresh perspective while we are tackling many conferences and mission-critical efforts over the next couple of months.”
Loesing is a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she is majoring in agricultural education, focusing on communications and leadership, with a minor in agribusiness management.
She has previously served as an intern with the Missouri Corn Growers Association, where she assisted in planning and executing membership events. Loesing also has experience working as a research assistant at the North Central Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Center and as a student success coach for the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Please join the Council in welcoming Abby to the organization!
