Patricia Esqueda serves as the senior marketing specialist for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products worldwide.

In this capacity, she provides timely information on the quality of U.S. grains and performs assessments on potential markets for grains and their co-products, such as DDGS and CFP, prepares technical information on new products, conducts conferences to promote grains and co-products, keeps abreast on any issues that may affect grain trade, prepares statistical data on grain and co-product imports and exports and supports the USGC Mexico director and assistant director to fulfill the Mexico’s office mission.

Esqueda previously worked for 19 years for the Council as the technical director. In this capacity she assessed potential markets for U.S. grain imports and tailored strategies to increase U.S. grains’ market share, developed strategic plans to implement market development and promotional programs, managed and coordinated work of local and international consultants performing demonstration trials in different locations in Mexico, prepared monthly reports with information regarding political, economic and social situations in Mexico, generated printed materials on animal production, participated in congresses, seminars presenting conferences and with booths delivering promotional information on grains and coproducts, performed assessment and implemented programs for five years in Central America and other carried out other responsibilities specific to the post.

Esqueda holds a bachelor´s degree in veterinary medicine from the National Autonomous University of Mexico UNAM and a master´s degree in animal nutrition from FES-Cuautitlan, UNAM.
