John Owen

Global Programs Coordinator

John Owen serves as the global programs coordinator for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that operates globally to promote the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products including ethanol. In this capacity, Owen is responsible for supporting logistics for the organization’s various trade teams and international programs.

Owen joined the Council from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, where he served as a Specialty Crops Market Reporter in the market news division. He also has experience as the agricultural affairs and commodity policy intern with at the Office of the United States Trade Representative and as the Asia policy intern at the International Trade Administration, where he gained exposure to international agricultural trade policy and market development initiatives.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University.
