USDA reported DDGS prices averaged $171 per short ton in the May 31 National Weekly Ethanol Report. Prices were down $2 from the previous week and down $2 from the previous month.
The DDGS/cash corn ratio was 1.08, up from 1.06 last week. The DDGS/KC soybean meal ratio was 0.45, up from 0.43 last week.
The EIA reported U.S. ethanol production averaged 1,072 thousand barrels per day (tbpd) the week ending May 31. This was up 4 tbpd (0.4%) week-over-week and up 36 tbpd (3.5%) with production this time last year. The 4-week average production was 1,040 tbpd, up 27 tbpd from last week. Production increased for the third week in a row as production and prices both recover from a recent low.
