During the U.S. Grains Council’s 53rd Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Ottawa, Canada, The Grains Foundation hosted a very successful fundraising auction. The auction raised $ 15,740 to support educational and charitable initiatives that enhance public understanding of the value of international agricultural trade. This was the largest showing of support for the Foundation on record since the 2005 auction at the 45th Annual Membership Meeting in Huntington Beach, Calf.
Bidders competed for unique items including hand-made jewelry, a custom-made pair of luxury boots, a three-day hunting excursion, and much more. All auction items were donated through the generosity of Council members.
“The Foundation is supported entirely by donations from the Council’s individual and corporate members,” said Wendell Shauman, chairman of the Foundation. “Every donation that has been made, both through the auction at Ottawa, from private contributions and from past events, is greatly appreciated. The Foundation could not advance its mission without member support.”
A special thanks to all who took their time and resources to bid on these fantastic items.
