At the final reception of the meeting in New Orleans last week, Grains Foundation Chairman Rick Fruth encouraged attendees to donate the $50 credit found on their hotel bill to the Grains Foundation. This “Cold Water Contribution will support the next generation’s leaders in international market development and agriculture through programs such as the International Collegiate Ag Leadership (I-CAL) program.
Co-sponsored by the National FFA Organization, the I-CAL program affords 12 college students the opportunity to travel overseas to better understand international agricultural trade and marketing. This program is designed for students to become immersed in the inner workings of the international marketplace and acquire a unique cultural experience. This year’s I-CAL mission will travel to Colombia and Panama where students will witness firsthand how free and open trade can attribute to market growth and economic gains.
