Informa Speaker to Explore Ag Exports and Transportation at USGC Annual Meeting

Ken A. Eriksen, senior vice president for Informa Economics, will bring his transportation expertise to address agriculture’s export challenges at the U.S. Grains Council’s International Marketing Conference and Annual Membership Meeting in New Orleans next month.

“Ken’s ag-specific perspective will provide a valuable counterpoint to Kurt Nagle’s comments on infrastructure challenges, said Tom Sleight, USGC vice president of operations and membership. “We look for the Eriksen-Nagle session to create a richer dialogue on transportation, agriculture and the changing world trade paradigm.

Eriksen is responsible for transportation research and service and consulting for the barge, rail and bulk commodity industries for Informa, a recognized world leader in broad-based international agricultural market research and analysis.

He worked previously as a statistician for USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Also at USDA, he conducted research and analysis on domestic and international issues for the Agricultural Marketing Service, including grain transportation modal share analysis and ocean freight market analysis.

Eriksen earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agribusiness and agricultural economics from Washington State University, while providing economic transportation data analysis and modeling for the University’s Department of Agricultural Economics.
