The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) thanks Logan Britton for his hard work as he completes his year-long fellowship with the Council this week. 

“The ability to tell a story from complex data and information is the key to success for the Council,” said Tom Sleight, USGC president and chief executive officer. “Logan has a special talent in this area and the Council greatly benefited from that talent. He worked across all Council departments, helping in ways that will have positive impact for years to come.” 

Britton joined the Council in September 2016 as the first graduate fellow in economics and policy analysis, funded with support from the Kansas Corn Commission.

In this role, he worked with the Council’s chief economist, Mike Dwyer, on a variety of projects from ethanol research to an analysis of global supply and demand for coarse grains and products. Beyond these duties, he actively contributed to the Council’s activities and programming across departments in the Washington office, including writing market updates for Global Update as well as generating market analysis and content for use across the organization. 

“Logan has set the bar high for future fellowships,” Sleight said. “We will miss his acumen, education and collaborative nature. We wish him great success in his new endeavors.” 

Britton earned both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in agricultural economics from Kansas State University. He will begin pursuit of his doctorate in agricultural economics at Oklahoma State University this fall.
