Staff in each of the Council’s offices have found ways to Grow the Future of the Council this year, connecting with buyers of U.S. corn, sorghum, barley, distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and ethanol in their markets to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives. And we are proud to share with you our annual report and financials.
From seeing great success at the first Global Ethanol Summit since 2018, successfully inaugurating our new office in India and expanding aquaculture and industrial starch programs around the world to seeing the Corn Sustainability Assurance Protocol come to life with records being issued globally, Council staff have worked diligently to serve the members the organization represents.
Beyond our worldwide success stories, you can look back at some commodity-specific high points from 2023 – record sales of U.S. ethanol to our top market, Canada; releasing the second year’s results of our corn origins study; seeing increased sorghum sales to China take place following a successful Export Sorghum event; a major Mexican brewer taking interest in U.S. barley malt; and seeing record DDGS exports to several Latin American countries.
As we wait to see what the Regional Agriculture Promotion Program could mean for the Council, we are ready, willing and already getting down to doing the hard work it takes to keep established markets open, open new markets and keep trade happening for the commodities you grow going strong as we head into a bright future beyond today, this year and for years to come.
