The vision, leadership, determination and creativity of agriculture producers in the United States created a surplus that helped other countries work their way to prosperity and achieve food security through trade. Yet U.S. agricultural productivity continued to soar, allowing the challenge of a surplus of corn to be turned into an opportunity to develop a world-leading ethanol industry that enhances the nation’s energy security.

With the growing demand of a burgeoning global middle class, U.S. agriculture is again rising to the challenge and in the process creating new opportunities for U.S. producers and agribusinesses.

Thomas C. Dorr, president and CEO of the U.S. Grains Council, will address these opportunities during a presentation at the at the U.S. Grains Council’s 51st Annual Board of Delegates Meeting July 25-27 in San Francisco, Calif.

Dorr will also discuss the importance of sound policy choices and the need for reduced barriers to U.S. exports while highlighting how Council members, Action Teams and its Board of Directors have helped keep the Council ahead of the curve.
