With a wealth of experience and acumen in these areas and more, trade expert Ellen Levinson will moderate an insightful panel discussion at the U.S. Grains Council’s 51st Annual Board of Delegates Meeting July 25-27 in San Francisco, Calif.
Specifically, Levinson will head a panel focusing on various definitions of food security – and the different understandings and nuances each definition provides. It promises to be a fascinating discussion which encompasses everything from domestic production to the importance of trade, and how trade can play a key role in food security.
As the head of Levinson & Associates, a consulting firm in government relations and international development, Levinson assists clients in public policy advocacy, business and organizational development, and project financing and management. She also acts as the executive director of the Alliance for Food Aid, which is composed of private voluntary organizations and cooperatives that conduct a range of assistance programs overseas.
In addition, Levinson also worked as government relations director for a law firm and served on the Agriculture Policy Advisory Committee on Trade to the U.S. Trade Representative and the Secretary of Agriculture.
