USGC Annual Meeting: Firsthand Account of India’s Demand Growth

Tremendous growth and significant change is occurring within India, and Sambhav Chowdhary, vice president of Santosh Starch, will provide a firsthand perspective at the U.S. Grains Council’s 51st Annual Board of Delegates Meeting July 25-27 in San Francisco, Calif.

As vice president of Santosh Starch, one of India’s largest corn millers, Chowdhary oversees wet milling operations in Western and Southern India.

Chowdhary will discuss the rapidly changing dynamics of the Indian market and how economic growth is pushing the starch and industrial processing sectors from a supply-driven corn market to a new demand-driven market reality. To aggressively expand and meet customer demand, he will explain that processors need access to a free flowing supply of inputs from all sources, including those around the globe. Chowdhary will also cover the economics behind the strong demand growth and provide important projections for the Indian market.
