The Grains Foundation Wine Adventure: Get Your Tickets Today!

Just picture it: A drive through scenic Napa Valley to Castello di Amorosa, a working winery and an authentically-styled 13th century medieval Tuscan-style castle complete with a church, drawbridge and water tower. There’s even a torture chamber – so be on your best behavior!

While on-site you’ll receive a full tour of the castle, a wine tasting with some of Castello di Amorosa’s award-winning wines and a gourmet lunch.

So what’s the best part of this adventure? Supporting The Grains Foundation, of course!

The Grains Foundation’s Wine Adventure is July 24, just before the Council’s 51st Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in San Francisco. A deluxe motor coach will leave The Fairmont San Francisco at 10:30 a.m. and return approximately 5:30 p.m. The fee for the adventure is $235 per person, with a portion going to the Foundation. Registration for the Wine Adventure can be made while completing meeting registration form online (www.Grains.org) or in printed form.

“The Grains Foundation is a great way for Council members to support efforts that help people understand the value of international trade, said Rick Fruth, the Foundation’s chairman. “Our main focus is supporting the International Collegiate Agricultural Leadership Program, known as I-CAL.

In cooperation with the National FFA Organization, I-CAL allows college juniors and seniors the opportunity to travel overseas and become exposed to global agriculture, international marketing and the importance of free and open trade.

Last year’s group of young people went to Malaysia and Taiwan, and this year’s students are going to Panama and Colombia – they are leaving this weekend for their two-week mission.

“We must cultivate a new generation ready to meet the challenges of the future, the growing world population and middle class, Fruth said. “Your support of The Grains Foundation can help spread the positive messages of trade, and attending the Wine Adventure is one great way to do that.

The Foundation’s direct annual appeal is also underway, and those who would like to contribute are encouraged to send a check to The Grains Foundation, 1400 K Street NW, Suite 1200, Washington, D.C. 20005. You can also contribute online at www.thegrainsfoundation.org.

“All support is a welcome and appreciated vote of confidence in our future, Fruth said.
