A Sweet Taste of Success: USGC Highlights Global Victories at Commodity Classic

As you make plans to attend the 2013 Commodity Classic, be sure to stop by the U.S. Grains Council’s booth #1116 and 1118 for a sweet taste of global success. Throughout the course of the trade show, the Council will highlight successful programs in more than 11 countries over the past year and give you a chance to try some traditional sweets from each region.

Large sales of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles to Ecuador; dispelling global U.S. corn quality and availability concerns; successful showcasing of U.S. sorghum as a food ingredient in Japan – these programs and more are just an example of the value of export promotion programs in farm bill. The Foreign Market Development (FMD) program and the Market Access Program (MAP) are key programs in the farm bill that create a public-private partnership to build demand for U.S. grain exports. The Council leverages the contributions of U.S. producer groups and agribusinesses with MAP/FMD funding to extend its reach and effectiveness in more than 50 countries.

Keep these programs alive with a comprehensive five-year farm bill.

Candy samples are available while supplies last. Come back often to get your chance to sample local sweets and learn more about how your checkoff and agribusiness contributions are being put to work around the globe.
