The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) is pleased to announce that it has hired Brian Healy in a newly-created manager of ethanol market development position in the Washington, D.C. office.

In this role, Healy will work very closely with USGC staff in Washington and globally as well as partners in USGC membership, Growth Energy, the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) and USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). The new position was approved by the USGC Board of Directors to add additional staff capacity specifically for ethanol programs as they grow to be a larger part of the organization’s overall market development portfolio.

“Brian’s extensive knowledge of global ethanol markets and ethanol policy, combined with his analytical skills and background in agriculture, will be an important addition to the Council’s efforts to build ethanol export demand around the globe,” said Mike Dwyer, USGC chief economist who oversees ethanol programs.

Healy comes to the Council from FAS, where he worked primarily on ethanol issues in the Office of Global Analysis and the FAS Ag Affairs office in Warsaw.

Healy graduated from the University of California–Davis with a master’s degree in agricultural economics. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland.
