USGC Director Tobin Honored by 4-H, Iowa State

Please join the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) in congratulating At-Large Director Jim Tobin on being inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame and on receiving Iowa State University’s Henry A. Wallace Award.

Tobin was one of 16 individuals inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Oct. 9 in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He was selected for this honor because of his significant contribution to 4-H, the nation’s premier youth development organization that serves more than 6 million young people nationwide.

The National 4-H Hall of Fame was created in 2002 as a 4-H centennial project to recognize and celebrate those people who have significantly impacted 4-H and its millions of members.

In a separate ceremony, Tobin also received the Henry A. Wallace award in honor of his outstanding contribution to agriculture. Tobin has served in numerous leadership roles related to industry affairs, agricultural marketing and commercial development during his 30-year tenure with the Monsanto Company, all of which contributed to his selection for this honor.

Established in 1978, this award is used to honor Iowa State University alumni who have made outstanding contributions to national or international agriculture in writing, teaching, research or leadership.

Congratulations, Jim!
