In August of 2011, the U.S. Grains Council announced its success of getting distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and corn gluten feed (CGF) added to the Saudi Arabian subsidy list of feed ingredient imports. Since then, Saudi Arabia has imported 24,000 tons of DDGS and nearly 16,000 tons of CGF. Although still a relatively small market, the Council anticipates DDGS and CGF sales will rise as buyers become more familiar with integrating feed rations with these products.

Later this month, a team of Saudi Arabian leaders from some of the country’s largest broiler and dairy operations will travel to the Export Exchange 2012 conference held in Minneapolis to meet with U.S. industry experts and suppliers of DDGS and CGF.

Export Exchange 2012 will serve as a timely opportunity for domestic exporters and agribusinesses to build contacts in this new and expanding market and with the other 190 international buyers who will be in attendance. In addition to attending the conference, the Saudi trade team will also visit crop, animal and processing operations in Minnesota and Arkansas.
