The U.S. Grains Council is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Roepke to USGC director of trade development and government relations in the China office. He will make his official move to China shortly after the New Year. Roepke served as the Council’s manager of global trade in the Washington, D.C. office since 2011.
“Kevin has proven himself to be an extremely valuable member of our Global team, adding to the Council’s trade servicing capacity and enhancing the Council’s overall global market development programs with his strong business and trade background, as well as his exceptional communication skills,” said USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight. “Now we want to challenge Kevin to help bring the Council’s efforts in China to a new level.”
As director of trade development and government relations, Roepke will work under the direction of USGC Director in China Bryan Lohmar to plan, coordinate and execute the Council’s trade servicing and government relations programs. Additionally Roepke will play a key role in maintaining a constructive relationship and useful dialogue with key national-level stakeholders in China including government agencies and China’s government affiliated industry associations.
Roepke joined the Council in 2011 as the manager of international operations – marketing. Prior to the Council, he served in various trading and merchandising positions with Archer Daniels Midland.
He is a graduate of Iowa State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in public service and administration in agriculture.
