Carrow Named Regional Director of the Western Hemisphere

The U.S. Grains Council is pleased to announce the promotion of Marri Carrow to USGC Regional Director of the Western Hemisphere, based in Panama.

“Since joining the Council in 2008, Marri has been intricately involved in our international and domestic communications initiatives,” said USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight. “As a director of communications, Marri has enhanced our communications efforts by successfully integrating them with other stakeholders efforts.”

As regional director for the Western Hemisphere, Carrow will identify and address all relevant trade, technical and policy-related factors relevant to building and maintaining the market for U.S. grains and co-products in the region.

“Marri’s exceptional leadership, management and communications skills make her the ideal fit for this region which holds enormous potential, and is an area for Council emphasis,” Sleight said. “We are looking for Marri to think creatively about the region, develop impactful programs and make sure we communicate success and perspective.”

She is replacing Kurt Shultz who recently was promoted to director of global strategies based in Washington, D.C. Carrow will be transitioning into her new role during the next few months before relocating to Panama this summer.

Carrow, who grew up on a corn, soybean, and hog farm in southwestern Minnesota, holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Southwest Minnesota State University and is currently pursuing a master of business administration in marketing.

She served as communications assistant for the Minnesota Corn Growers Association before joining the Council in September 2008.

Congratulations Marri!
