Enke Joins USGC Mexico For Summer Internship

Stephen Enke joined the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) office in Mexico City, Mexico, on Monday, May 15, as the summer international intern, sponsored by the Nebraska Corn Board.

“Collaborating with the USGC Mexico office will offer a diverse perspective on policymaking,” Enke said. “This internship is an opportunity to further my own development, appreciate Mexico and its culture, and share the good our state and country offers the world.”

The Nebraska Corn Board sponsors this annual international internship, which allows college students to gain professional experience working in the agricultural sector abroad. Throughout the summer, Enke will assist Council efforts in Mexico by helping to organize trade teams, communicate with importers and work on special projects.

“The USGC Mexico office is thrilled to have Stephen join our team to support us with his research, database and website design skills through the busy summer of programs we have planned,” said Heidi Bringenberg, USGC assistant director in Mexico. “He will gain a lot of valuable work experience during his time in the dynamic country, culture and market in Mexico.”

Enke is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in marketing with an emphasis on advertising. He expects to graduate in December 2017. He serves as an international business peer mentor for the university as well as a student wellness advocate for Nebraska Medicine.

Please join us in welcoming Stephen!
