Trade Issues To Dominate Conversations At NAFB’s Trade Talk

Fresh on the heels of Export Exchange 2016, leaders from the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) are heading to the National Association of Farm Broadcasting’s (NAFB’s) annual Trade Talk interview fair next week to talk trade policy, ethanol market development and more with farm broadcasters from around the country.

Trade Talk is the centerpiece event of the NAFB National Convention, being held Nov. 9-11 in Kansas City. It connects members of the ag industry with critical members of the ag media to discuss issues and topics important to their organizations, associations and companies. More than 100 broadcasters circulate among participants during the six and a half hour event.

USGC Chairman Chip Councell, a farmer from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight are scheduled to be at the event to address current trade issues on the Council’s radar including:

• the importance of tearing down trade barriers and addressing the foreign policies that threaten American businesses and workers.
• the Council’s work to develop new export markets and strengthen existing ones for U.S. grains.
• the Council’s and its industry partners’ plans for ongoing work to promote U.S. ethanol around the globe.
