The U.S. Grains Council is pleased to announce it has developed a new communication strategy for Latin America focused to better engage U.S. grains customers in the region. The new program – started in January 2014 – involves a USGC Latin America and Mexico website (www.grainslta.org), new email distribution system, targeted media distribution lists and technical reports highlighting successful case studies in the region promoting the utilization of U.S. grains.
Prior to development and implementation of this strategy, the Council reviewed readership and response rates to Council emails and other publications. In Latin America, as elsewhere, inadequately targeted communications are often tuned out by recipients who are bombarded by messages from many sources. Language barriers and lack of familiarity with the content of Council publications were also contributing factors. The Council anticipates that more targeted messaging will better serve recipients and more consistently convey the Council’s message.
Be sure to watch for future updates, as the Council continues to evaluate and improve the communications strategy for this key region.
