Gerry Salzman’s 25 years as a U.S. Grains Council member representing Case IH are a study both in the quantity and quality of leadership.
Over the years, Salzman has chaired two committees, served on the Membership and Communications Advisory Team, spent nine years on the Council’s executive committee, and served on the Board of Directors from 2003–2011.
Gerry’s enthusiasm for the Council’s work and for membership is what stands out for Owen Newlin, retired senior vice president of Pioneer Hi-Bred International: “Gerry gets things started,” said Newlin, citing examples like Salzman’s instrumental role in developing the Council’s Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey.
“Gerry has been especially attentive to membership issues and benefits,” said Tom Sleight, USGC president and CEO. “He has carried the flag for agribusiness involvement again and again, not just for Case IH but for our agribusiness members in general.”
Salzman, who received a Council lifetime achievement award last year, will be honored during the Council’s 53rd Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Ottawa, July 29-31, for 25 years of service.
