USGC Partners with Indian Feed Manufacturer to Enhance US-India Dialogue

Fresh from an exploratory U.S. Grains Council trip to India last month, the Council has taken another significant step in further developing the agricultural relationship between the United States and India. Together with the Compound Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India, the Council has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly work towards growth and development of the commercial poultry and livestock sectors in India.

Some topics of interest for collaborative activities include:

  • Risk Management for Feed Ingredient Buyers
  • Poultry Marketing
  • Grain Quality Management, Storage and Bulk Handling
  • Silage and Balanced Ration for Efficient Feeding of Dairy

CLFMA India is an association with approximately 200 members. For the past 47 years, it has worked towards issues related to the development of the livestock sector along with the Government of India.

In addition to signing the MOU, the Council will also meet with a group of biotechnology organizations, to continue to promote a science-based approach to agricultural biotechnology. By stressing the importance of market access, trade and technology in India, the Council remains committed its mission of Developing Markets, Enabling Trade, and Improving Lives.
