USGC Advisory Team Application Window Open Until April 28

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) is now accepting applications for the organization’s Advisory Teams, commonly known as A-Teams.

A-Teams are committees of subject matter experts who provide input on the direction, priorities and activities of the Council as well as further encourage member participation in USGC export market development efforts.

“Serving on an Advisory Team is a rewarding and educational experience that provides leadership opportunities in an increasingly global industry,” said Chip Councell, USGC chairman and farmer from Maryland. “The expert members of our A-Teams provide critical insight and guidance on the programmatic planning and direction of the Council.”

The Council operates seven advisory teams, each with a different area of focus, including Asia, Ethanol, Innovation and Sustainability, Middle East/Africa, Trade Policy, Value-Added and Western Hemisphere.

A-Team members serve two-year terms and are committed to attending UGSC meetings as well as participating in selected international travel, domestic trade teams and other meetings and conferences.

Current A-Team members whose terms expire in 2017 must submit a new application, either for the same or a different A-Team, in order to continue serving as an A-Team member. Council members can apply for as many A-Team members as they have eligible delegates.

Applications for A-Teams are due by April 28. USGC will finalize appointments prior to the USGC Board of Delegates’ July meeting, with terms beginning on Aug. 7, soon after it concludes.
