New NCGA Leadership will have a Running Start

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) works closely with The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to create and increase opportunities for U.S. corn growers in export markets.

NCGA recently announced that Chris Novak will become the organization’s next chief executive officer, taking the place of Rick Tolman, who earlier this year announced his intention to retire.

During his 14-year career with NCGA, Tolman worked incessantly to strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership with the Council. Tolman was a long-time senior executive at the Council prior to becoming CEO at NCGA. With that background, Tolman had a keen understanding of international markets and consistently championed the interests of the U.S. corn growers in global trade. The Council is appreciative of Tolman’s distinguished service at both the Council and NCGA and wishes him all the best in retirement.

“The Council and NCGA enjoy an excellent working relationship, and we are looking forward to working with Chris,” said USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight.

Novak’s first day will be Monday, Oct. 13. Previously he served as chief executive officer at the National Pork Board. Prior to that, he was executive director of the Indiana Corn Marketing Council, the Indiana Corn Growers Association and the Indiana Soybean Alliance.

Congratulations, Chris!
