Grains Foundation Auction a Success

Attendees at the U.S. Grains Council’s 54th Annual Board of Delegates meeting in Omaha, Nebraska had the opportunity to participate in a silent auction that included items like hand-crafted jewelry, signed copies of Howard G. Buffett’s 40 Chances: Finding Hope in a Hungry World, a set of golf clubs and a hand-crafted signed bottle of bourbon-whiskey.

These offerings and more proved to be a significant draw, with attendees bidding generously.

The Foundation was established in 1983 by members of the Council to advance the understanding of the value of international trade, build partnerships and nurture the next generation of leaders in the agricultural and agribusiness sectors. All proceeds from the auction went to advance this mission.

“The Foundation is supported entirely by donations from the Council’s individual and corporate members,” said Don Fast, chairman of the Foundation until the conclusion of the Omaha meetings. “Every donation that’s been made, both through the auction at Omaha, from private contributions and from past events, is greatly appreciated.”

A special thanks to all who took their time and resources to bid on these fantastic items!
