Throughout 2018, the U.S. Grains Council balanced trade policy challenges with cultivating short-term and long-term market development for U.S. feed grains and ethanol.
With record-breaking sales of grains in all forms of 120 million metric tons in 2017/2018 – roughly 4.75 billion bushels or a third of U.S. production – the Council’s marketing efforts supported our diverse membership of farmers and agribusiness representatives to help them to realize these opportunities.
Oftentimes challenging, the shifting dynamics in world markets and global trade policies present new possibilities for demand as well, and the Council will continue to seize them around the world.
With this year’s theme of When Trade Works, the World Wins in mind, the Council offers this year in review, with highlights on market developments, trade policy updates and trade servicing efforts within each commodity.
