Wennie Liu serves as the program manager in China for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products worldwide.

In this capacity, Liu assists the country director in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Council’s livestock programs in China to address important issues constraining the modernization and expansion of China’s livestock industry. She serves as the principle contact between the Council and livestock industry in China, and also works with other Council staff to investigate and report on the current status and trends of the livestock industry in China, providing the country director with insight and analysis of the situation and outlook as well. Liu also works closely with China’s beer industry, promoting U.S. barley and malt to the Chinese beer sector.

Prior to the Council, Liu worked for the Holstein Farmer as the editor. In this capacity, she worked closely with the Chinese dairy industry and maintained relationships with stakeholders, institutes and dairy farms. She also organized conferences, interviewed stakeholders and translated articles and news for China’s dairy sector.

Liu holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Renmin University of China.
