At its 10th International Marketing Conference and 53rd Annual Membership Meeting in Charleston, S.C., in February, the U.S. Grains Council will recognize Dick Gallagher, Larry Klever, and Kevin Rempp from the Iowa Corn Promotion Board for their five years of service as delegates of the Council.
All have actively attended Council annual meetings since joining and participated in Council programs around the globe.
Gallagher was part of the 2011 China Spring Planting Tour, where he was able to examine the country’s corn growing conditions and study Chinese government policies that affect acreage, marketing, and demand. Gallagher is currently the leader of the Asia Programs Advisory Team (A-Team). Prior to becoming an A-Team lead, he served on the Rest of the World A-Team for four years.
Klever visited Japan, Taiwan, and China during the Council’s 2010 Corn Mission. He was also part of a group of corn growers who extended their stay during the Council’s 7th International Marketing Conference in Mexico to meet with beef and pork producers, commodity traders, and feed mills to promote U.S. products. He is on the Value-Added A-Team.
Rempp spoke at the 2009 Southeast Asia U.S. Agricultural Cooperators Conference in the Philippines, where he presented on U.S. corn and co-products supply and demand and highlighted the 2009 U.S. corn quality. He was part of the 2008 Corn Mission to Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan and also participated in the 2011 China Corn Harvest Tour. He currently serves on the Asia A-Team.
Don’t forget to congratulate and say thank you to Dick, Larry, and Kevin for their commitment to the Council in Charleston.
