The U.S. Grains Council (USCG) led a delegation to Cuba last week to examine both opportunities and challenges in opening that market to increased imports of U.S. coarse grains and co-products. USGC’s Director of Global Strategies Kurt Shultz reflected on this and more in the audio clip here upon his return.
“The Council is going to be engaged in ongoing discussions with the Cuban government to help them develop a strategic plan for their livestock sector,� Shultz said. “This plan will help us to understand their priorities and opportunities for expansion. That way the Council can have some success in developing certain ag sectors.�
