{"id":4375,"date":"2016-05-26T13:54:30","date_gmt":"2016-05-26T13:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grains.org\/ltamex\/usgc-ncga-study-shows-grain-exports-worth-82-billion-to-u-s-economy\/"},"modified":"2016-05-26T13:54:30","modified_gmt":"2016-05-26T13:54:30","slug":"usgc-ncga-study-shows-grain-exports-worth-82-billion-to-u-s-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grains.org\/ltamex\/usgc-ncga-study-shows-grain-exports-worth-82-billion-to-u-s-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"USGC, NCGA Study Shows Grain Exports Worth $82 Billion To U.S. Economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of May&#8217;s World Trade Month celebrations, the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) <a href=\"http:\/\/grains.org\/sites\/default\/files\/National%20Report_0.pdf\" target=\"_self\">recently released a study<\/a> that found the export of grain and grain products in 2014 generated $82 billion in economic output, supporting more than 370,000 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Other critical facts from the study include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13.008px; line-height: 1.538em;\">Exports of just U.S. corn and corn products generated $74.7 billion in annual economic output in 2014.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13.008px; line-height: 1.538em;\">All feed grains examined \u00e2\u20ac\u201c corn, corn products, sorghum and barley \u00e2\u20ac\u201c increased the U.S. GDP by $33 billion over what would have otherwise occurred, affecting 371,536 jobs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13.008px; line-height: 1.538em;\">The export of corn and corn products increased the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) by $29.8 billion over what would have occurred without such exports.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13.008px; line-height: 1.538em;\">The number of full-time equivalent jobs linked directly or indirectly to corn exports totaled 332,787.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13.008px; line-height: 1.538em;\">Every $1 in exports of grains and grain products generates an additional $3.23 in business sales across the United States.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The study was released to coincide with agriculture week of World Trade Month, which the Council, NCGA and other agricultural groups have been celebrating on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The month-long promotion of trade&#8217;s importance to the U.S. economy is designated by the International Trade Administration, a U.S. Department of Commerce agency that promotes U.S. exports. <\/p>\n<p>The Council encourages everyone to join the conversion on Twitter this month by sharing your favorite agricultural trade fact.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/usgc.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT01NjMwMTQ2JnA9MSZ1PTEwNjIwMjQxMTYmbGk9MzU1NjEzNDI\/index.html\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a> to visit the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Twitter page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of May&#8217;s World Trade Month celebrations, the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) recently released a study that found the export of grain and grain products in 2014 generated $82 billion in economic output, supporting more than 370,000 jobs.
