Richard Kasting, U.S. Grains Council (USGC) director of strategic relations, is scheduled to retire this fall after four and a half years of dedicated service to the Council. <\/p>\n As director of strategic relations, Kasting has been charged with creating and implementing efforts to strengthen relations with Council supporters and partners through strategic communications and awareness of Council programs. <\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dick has been very instrumental in the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unique ability to communicate with a range of audiences about the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s strategic plan, provide insight on branding and strategic communications and help support the creation of MAIZALL, the international maize alliance,\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd said USGC President and CEO Thomas Sleight. <\/p>\n Kasting brought more than 30 years of experience in government, public policy and politics to his work at the Council. Prior to the joining the USGC staff, Kasting served at U.S. Department of Agriculture\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (USDA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s) Rural Development as director of congressional affairs and on Capitol Hill as a legislative staffer in both the House and the Senate. His career has also included time with a national political party organization and for a national consulting firm.<\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dick has tremendous talent as a writer and master synthesizer of information,\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd Sleight said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153After retiring once before joining the Council in 2011 to do this great work, Dick\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s skills and expertise are greatly appreciated and will be missed.\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd<\/p>\n Kasting\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s last day at the Council will be Sept. 30.<\/p>\n Congratulations, Dick!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Richard Kasting, U.S. Grains Council (USGC) director of strategic relations, is scheduled to retire this fall after four and a half years of dedicated service to the Council.
