Byong Ryol Min, U.S. Grains Council (USGC) director of Korea, is scheduled to give a farewell speech to USGC delegates at the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 55th<\/sup> Annual Board of Delegates Meeting<\/a> this summer, sharing his view of the impact of his and the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s work in his home country over the last 35 years.   <\/p>\n

Mr. Min, as he is known around the world, has been instrumental in the success of the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s programs in Korea since joining the organization in 1977. Beginning as a dairy management consultant, he has proven to be an excellent conduit for USGC\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mission to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives. As just one example, over the course of his career, Mr. Min has helped the Korean swine industry develop from two hogs per farmer in the 1970s to about 2,000 pigs per producer today.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mr. Min has shown himself to be brilliant, selfless and creative, even in a mature market,\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd said USGC Chairman Ron Gray. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mr. Min\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s contributions to the Council have been impressive, and invaluable. His skills and expertise in understanding the unique political, economic and trade factors that affect the Korean market are greatly appreciated and will be honored and remembered.\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd<\/p>\n

Mr. Min is a recognized expert in his field and his academic curriculum vitae is as impressive as his dedicated service. He received his bachelor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree in animal science from the Agricultural College at Seoul National University, Korea. He also received a master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree in agricultural economics from Louisiana State University.<\/p>\n
