The U.S. Grains Council today announced the promotion of Rebecca Bratter, USGC director of trade development, to the newly created position of vice president of international operations. This position is charged with providing leadership and executive oversight to implement a unified mission and vision across the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s global operations.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The creation of this position strengthens the direction of the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s international programs at a time of unprecedented change in global trade and demand,\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd said USGC President and CEO Thomas C. Dorr. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/p>\n
In this position, Bratter will refine the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s marketing strategies and performance measures through a careful and thorough analysis of global constraints, market trends, strategies and capabilities. In so doing, she will look for commonalities of purpose and innovative programs that optimize the Council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s worldwide resources and results.\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd<\/p>\n
Bratter joined the Council last September from the U.S. Wheat Associates (USW) where she served as the director of trade policy and government. Prior to her position at USW, Bratter held various roles at The Nature Conservancy, Private Agencies Collaborating Together (PACT), Family Health International, and Management Health International. From 1997-2006, Bratter worked as the director of international programs for the American Forest and Paper Association and the Wood Products International Group.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Rebecca\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s extensive knowledge and experience in global trade negotiations along with her expertise of agricultural biotechnology and trade policy issues makes her a good fit for this position,\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd said Terry Vinduska, USGC chairman representing Council member Kansas Corn Commission. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We are pleased she has accepted the position.\u00e2\u20ac\ufffd<\/p>\n
