USGC Recognizes The Passing Of Helen Inman

Helen Inman, 84, passed away March 22 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Bancroft, Iowa. Services were held in her honor on March 28.

Inman was the first female chairwoman of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board. During her tenure on the Board, she was also a delegate to the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) for almost 10 years. She served on the public relations, market development and trade policy committees.

Inman was widely recognized for her efforts to promote and improve agriculture. For her work on biotechnology, corn production and farming and her community service, Inman received the Kossuth County Ag Recognition Award in 2004. In 2015, she received the Iowa Corn Walter Geoppinger Lifetime Achievement Award for her service and commitment to advancing the corn industry.

“Helen was always a calm and impactful voice in discussions about the Council’s global operations,â€� said USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight. “Be it in Geneva or at Council meetings, Helen earnestly and gracefully represented Iowa’s and U.S. producers’ interests.â€�
