The U.S. Grains Council held a set of regional two-day workshops, titled, “Advanced Information on Nutrition and Technology”, in Indonesia and Thailand earlier this month. More than 100 poultry, swine and feed company representatives attended from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines.

“This program provided our customers with unbiased technical updates on animal nutrition and feed technology,” said Adel Yusupov, the Council’s Southeast Asia regional director. “The goal is to continue building demand for U.S. feed grains and co-products in the region’s animal production sector through technical information transfer and education.”

USGC consultants shared information on topics, including determining nutritional requirements; improving carcass quality; use and evaluation of feed additives; U.S. poultry and swine industry trends; and results of broiler enzyme studies. A USGC technical director presented on the topics of layer nutrition and co-products use in animal nutrition. In addition, there were speakers from Bruker Co., Singapore, and Feed Management Systems who offered their latest research and knowledge.

Through workshop sets like this, the Council is able to increase animal production competence, which ultimately will increase the demand for U.S. grains from the animal production sector.
