Leading grain buyers from more than a dozen Chinese companies will convene in Minneapolis, Minn., next month for Export Exchange 2012. The Chinese delegation will be part of more than 190 of the world’s top buyers and end-users of U.S. coarse grains joining domestic producers and agribusinesses to discuss export markets during this historic time in agriculture.
The potential market for U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) in China is expected to grow in the coming years. Export Exchange will serve as a forum for U.S. industry representatives to build new customer relationships and reinforce existing contacts. Buyers representing 70 percent of China’s overall coarse grains market are scheduled to participate in this world-class event. The Chinese delegation will be comprised of principal buyers, including end-users who import directly from the United States and traders who buy and hold U.S. grain stock. Export Exchange 2012 will foster understanding and highlight the value of U.S. DDGS in international feed milling and livestock operations.
The Chinese trade team will also have the opportunity to travel to Ohio to get a firsthand look at U.S. production, including touring a large-scale grain farming operation and viewing the biorefining process. It is anticipated that Export Exchange and consecutive site visits will result in several new Chinese buyers of U.S. DDGS.
The Chinese delegation will consist of top-level representatives from the following companies:
- COFCO Agri-Trading & Logistics
- China SDIC International Trade Co.
- Sichuan New Hope Liuhe Farm Solution Co.
- China Light General Merchandise Imp. & Exp. Corp.
