During the U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC’s) 13th International Marketing Conference and 56th Annual Membership Meeting last month in Sarasota, Florida, USGC Director of Trade Policy and Biotechnology Floyd Gaibler and USGC Manager of Global Development Programs Anne Zaczek were honored for five years of service to the organization.
“Service recognitions tend to look to our past endeavors, but Floyd and Anne are two Council staffers who are taking us forward into new initiatives, said USGC President and CEO Tom Sleight.
In his five years of service, Gaibler has brought an exceptional background in trade policy to bear on a wide array of key trade issues, from free trade agreements and biotechnology to new developments like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Sleight said.
“Floyd leads the charge with the Council’s engagement with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and similar authorities around the globe whenever a trade issue arises, Sleight said.
“Looking toward the future, he is also instrumental in the effective collaboration and implementation of our MAIZALL initiatives with Argentina and Brazil.
Zaczek is responsible for the Council’s Food for Progress Program to improve feed quality and the concurrent impact on poultry production in Tanzania, a unique program that is showing clear and impressive results quickly while building on the Council’s prior work in Morocco and Mexico.
“Anne has done an extraordinary job of uniting a diverse group of industry players. Her communication skills, acumen and collaborative spirit have been spectacular in this effort, Sleight said.
“As we celebrate these staff members’ past dedication and successes, we need to remember that the future – and what they will contribute to it – is even more important to both Council members and our international customers.
