The increasing global demand for U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) is a prime reason why the Export Exchange 2010 is expected to draw a diverse group of attendees representing both the domestic and international marketplace.
Given the emerging demand for DDGS, the U.S. Grains Council felt compelled to put a greater focus on the ethanol co-product, according to Thomas C. Dorr, USGC president and CEO.
“The international export market for DDGS has grown from almost nothing in 2004, to nearly 7.5 million metric tons this year, Dorr explained.
The Export Exchange 2010 is an international conference focused around the export of U.S. DDGS and coarse grains. More than 170 international buyers and end-users will gather in Chicago Oct. 6-8, 2010, to meet with U.S. suppliers and producers of high protein feed grains and ingredients. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council and the Renewable Fuels Association, the conference will detail current opportunities and constraints as they relate to the export of U.S. DDGS and coarse grains.
“The Export Exchange is a one stop, intensive two and a half day seminar for people interested in both buying and selling the product, Dorr said.
